About our wine & cider:
Michele Bloomquist, owner, and winemaker uses only the most exceptional fruit to handcraft unique wine and hard cider in limited quantities. She abides by a philosophy of minimal intervention in her wine-making process. This means Heisen House wines are low-sulfite, vegan, and unfiltered. Haven’t tried an unfiltered wine? Read the first impressions of our wine by Viki Eierdam, Corks and Forks writer at the Columbian.
About our property:
Heisen House Vineyards lies on 15 acres in Battle Ground, Washington; about 40 minutes from Portland, just north of Battle Ground Lake. Here, we are nestled among towering evergreens and pastoral farmland.
As a former pioneer homestead, Heisen House Vineyards boasts a state and nationally registered historic barn (120+ years). The barn was built by Alexander Heisen and features hand-hewn beams, and tenon and mortise construction. The restoration process is ongoing and funded by the annual Barn Bash Festival.
The historic turn of the century Victorian style home was built by Alexander’s son, Henry in 1898. It is complete with gingerbread trim, steep sloping rooftops, and covered porches in both the front and back. The sides of the home are flanked by 100+ year old English Laurel that resemble stately trees more than the shrub-like appearance they are known for.
Whether you would like to try a flight of our sumptuous wines or have the wedding of your dreams, we look forward to seeing you at Heisen House Vineyards!
